.. was a maker of banjos in the early 1880’s. In 1884 he constructed a six string banjo and tuned it like a guitar thus enabling a guitarist to play the banjo at oneand it is recorded that banjo adherents of that time “received a jolt from a quarter they least expected it.”
It was predicted that the instrument spelt the doom for the banjo. . (note: the guitar did not become a popular instrument available to the masses until the 1920’s) No doom arrived and little more is known of Clark’s banjos.
